The 2021 deck. Customise your adventure, plan with friends, explore local events and venues.

01 · Problem

Planning a day out is scattered across group chats, maps and ticket sites. Venues and events advertise with flyers or mass social media, and on a map they are just pins that say nothing.

02 · What I built

  • A live map where events and venues appear as their own drawn depictions rather than pins, with editable overlays, icons and routing so groups can plan visually.
  • Parties. Groups joined by code or QR, with group chat and live location sharing.
  • Quests. Enterprise accounts setting challenges with in-app rewards and in-store discounts, plus geofenced advertising near the point of sale.
  • A prototype app, and the pitch, business model and market research around it. Launch city, York.

03 · What happened

Snaggle App Limited was my first company. Six of us, formed around the University of York, with a hand-illustrated brand. I was project architect and full-stack developer. It reached prototype and pitch in 2021, with alpha and beta trials planned for that autumn and a UK launch planned for March 2022.

It stayed early. Two months after these documents, GuideMapp began, and that one shipped to both app stores.
